FAQ

Short answers to common questions. If you don’t find what you need, reach out on Telegram.

How do I add my website? Follow the Quick Start. It takes a few minutes.

Do I need to install anything? No. Everything happens in your dashboard and at your domain provider.

How long until my site is active? After you change nameservers, it’s usually quick but can take up to 24–48 hours.

Managed DNS or External DNS? Managed, unless you must keep DNS at your current provider. Managed gets you free automatic SSL. See Domain Modes.

Will my site go offline while I switch to nsin? No, as long as your DNS records are correct first. nsin copies your existing records when you add your site. See Managing DNS Records.

My email stopped working after switching. Make sure your MX records are present and set to unproxied. See Managing DNS Records.

A rule I created does nothing. Rules only apply to traffic that reaches nsin. Check that the hostname’s record is proxied. See Rules Overview.

Visitors see an old version of my page. Clear (purge) the cache for that page. See Purging & Browsing the Cache.

What do HIT and MISS mean? HIT means nsin served a saved copy (fast). MISS means it had to fetch a fresh copy. See How Caching Works.

I’m working on the site and keep having to purge. Turn on developer mode — it bypasses the cache for a while and switches itself off. See Purging & Browsing the Cache.

Do I need to buy an SSL certificate? No. With Managed DNS, nsin gives you a free one and renews it automatically. See SSL Overview.

My browser says “Not Secure”. Make sure your site is Active, then add an httphttps redirect.

How do I keep bad traffic out? Start with the WAF for attacks and rate limiting for abuse. For traffic you never want at all — a country, a path — use a block rule.

How do I stop AI crawlers? With a bot rule. See Bots & Challenges.

How do I know if my server goes down? nsin watches real traffic for origin failures and opens an incident when they persist. See Uptime & Outages.

Where do I see traffic and cache stats? Monitoring & Analytics.

I forgot my password. Reset it from the login page. See Reset Your Password.

How do I change my plan? In the Plans section of your dashboard. See Plans.

What happens if I go over my traffic allowance? Nothing is cut off — the extra is billed from your wallet. See Traffic & Usage.

Can I let someone else manage my domain? Yes, with the role you choose. See Sharing a Domain.

Is there an API? Yes. See API Keys and the REST API, with a full endpoint reference.

Can I connect an AI assistant? Yes — nsin hosts an MCP server.

Can I get wildcard certificates automatically? Yes, with the acme.sh DNS plugin.
